Exciting changes are ahead for Ellipsis! We are thrilled to announce that Kelly Hannan will join our team as the new chief executive officer of Ellipsis, effective April 28.

Leadership transitions are pivotal moments in an organization’s story, and we are grateful for the steady, visionary leadership of Chris Koepplin over the past three years. Chris has guided Ellipsis through growth, transformation and new opportunities, and she will continue to support the organization through this transition until May 30.

Kelly joins Ellipsis with an extensive background in nonprofit leadership, organizational transformation and community engagement. She is a mission-driven leader passionate about driving meaningful impact, and her expertise in building effective teams and creating measurable outcomes aligns with Ellipsis’ commitment to supporting and empowering Iowa’s youth and families.

Board president Mick Lovell expressed his confidence in Kelly’s leadership, saying, “Kelly’s vision and extensive experience will build upon the strong foundation Chris has established. Her experience in driving operational excellence and fostering meaningful partnerships will be instrumental in continuing our mission to create successful outcomes for the youth and families we serve.”

Previously, Kelly served as the chief operating officer of the Iowa Primary Care Association, where she played a pivotal role in expanding services and advancing health equity in community health centers. She is excited to bring her expertise to Ellipsis and continue the vital work of supporting Iowans who rely on our services.

“I am honored to join the Ellipsis team. I look forward to building upon the amazing work they’ve already done. Together, we will move Ellipsis forward with intention and care, ensuring every young person has the resources and support needed to thrive.”

In just the past five years, Ellipsis has cultivated a seamless and more integrated continuum of care after merging Youth Emergency Services & Shelter and Youth Homes of Mid-America. In a short time, the Ellipsis team has created more opportunities for kids, particularly girls; raised the bar for residential spaces to better serve youth; and successfully advocated for increased funding, ensuring stronger outcomes and brighter futures for those in our care.

We look forward to welcoming Kelly to the team. Stay tuned for details on upcoming opportunities to meet Kelly and learn more about her vision for Ellipsis. We also thank Chris for her leadership in building Ellipsis into the strong organization it has become.
