When we say we meet youth and families where they are, we mean it. With the opening of our new Barbara Lee Noble Campus, we’re taking another bold step toward making that promise a reality — especially for girls in our care.

Located in Des Moines, the Noble Campus expands the potential for Ellipsis’ continuum of care in our region. This new all-girls campus offers 10 foster group care beds for girls ages 12–17 and eight supervised apartment living (SAL) units for young women ages 16–21.

“This campus fills a critical gap in services for girls in central Iowa. For the first time, we’re able to offer this level of support close to home — providing not just shelter but also a life-changing foundation of support, healing and hope within these walls.”

Kelly Hannan, Ellipsis CEO

Until now, girls in need of foster group care in central Iowa often had to leave their communities, sometimes being placed in facilities hours away, to access support and services. Now, they can stay closer to home while receiving critical and comprehensive wraparound support, including therapy, life skills coaching and career readiness.

The supervised apartment living (SAL) program plays a key role in that process. Youth learn how to manage day-to-day responsibilities, like navigating public transportation, managing finances, and applying for jobs or secondary education. Each element of SAL is designed to help our clients transition into adulthood with confidence and stability.

We’re also proud to share that the Noble Campus was fully funded thanks to the generosity of our community. The Noble Family Foundation and the city of Des Moines each contributed $1 million to this project as part of our Hopeful Spaces campaign. This addition to our campuses is just Phase 3 of a larger vision. Our team remains committed to building and expanding safe, healing spaces for youth throughout Iowa.

We’re honored to continue this mission and excited to welcome girls to their new space starting  in early August 2025.
